Think about that. What
do you do every day besides the things you have to do? Is it helping you grow mentally, emotionally,
physically or spiritually? Or does it
slow your growth down?
As you may know if you have read this blog long, I am
retired. I can for the most part choose
to go to bed when I want, get up when I want, do what I want. Well I want to grow every day mentally, emotionally,
physically and spiritually so that means I have put some daily habits into my
life. I get up between 5:30 am and 6:00
am every day. I have a daily quiet time
in the Bible, then I read two different newspapers. I write two blogs. I write this one so that I will read. Reading is a big part of my day. I read at least five chapters in the Bible
every day and I read parts of four to five other books. I strive to walk three to five miles every
day. I am retired from working but I am
not retired from learning, from growing.
I also watch Perry Mason at lunch every day and do what I need around
the house and plan what Margaret and I will eat when she gets home from work. Then we watch TV together.
Now you may not have the time to do what I can do but you
have the time to form some positive habits that will make a difference in your
life. First of all evaluate what you do
every day. If it is hurting you then
make a positive habit that will take its place.
Life is to be lived, to be enjoyed but it can also be
destructive. Let’s use our life for the
purpose that we were created. We were
created to love God, love others and love our neighbor as our self. It is in learning and growing that we become
better at it each day.
So are your daily habits positive or negative?
