Hebrews 11: 1 (NKJV) says, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for” but it then says, “the evidence of things not seen.”   Faith is not only substance but it is also evidence. Think about this.   Let’s say that you have bought stuff over the internet before.   Yes, your receipt that you printed off gives you confidence that your going to get your stuff but also the fact that you have gotten stuff delivered to you before is evidence that you will get something again.   Faith is substance and evidence. So what is faith exactly?   Well the writer of Hebrews chapter 11 verse 1 (NKJV) says, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”   There is the word substance.    “ Faith is the substance of things hoped for. ” James clarifies this thought by saying, “We practice such faith often in the physical world. Pick up the phone and call a department store to place an order, and they’ll ask for your credit card number. Then they’ll probably mail you a receipt. You don’t have the product; you only have a receipt. But with it in hand, you wait confidently for the product you ordered to come.
