Now we should have a
clue to the reality of our majesty from knowing that God sent his only Son to
earth to buy us back by his death but that also shows the potential of our
vanity. We killed him because he wanted
to be the god of our life and we did too and still do. What would happen if we really realized our
potential?
Dallas quotes C. S.
Lewis who says, “To remember that the dullest and most uninteresting person you
talk to may one day be a creature which, if you saw it now, you would be
strongly tempted to worship, or else a horror and a corruption such as you now
meet, if at all, only in a nightmare. . . . There are no ordinary people. You
have never talked to a mere mortal. Nations, cultures, arts,
civilizations—these are mortal, and their life is to ours as the life of a
gnat. But it is immortals whom we joke with, work with, marry, snub, and
exploit— immortal horrors or everlasting splendors.”
Now in all of this God
has given us the freedom of choice. If
we choose God to be god of our life and to let him transform us to be our
majestic potential then our life is unlimited in its everlasting splendor. But if our choice is to be our own god then
we will truly lose out on that which God has created us to become. That is what it means to be lost. He wants to save us from ourselves and our
evil potential which will be immortal horrors.
It all depends upon
who we choose to be the god of our life.
So who will you choose to realize your potential?
So who will you choose to realize your potential?
