A thought by Ray Johnston (2014-05-13) from his book, The Hope Quotient: Measure It. Raise It. You'll Never Be the Same. (p.95). Thomas Nelson. Kindle Edition. (Click on the title to go to Amazon.com to buy the book.)
So, what is it you really want? So, what are you doing to get it? Some of you may say, I want to do God’s will for my life. Ok.

Ray goes on, “God often gives supernatural gifts that match a person’s natural gifts, but He also enjoys giving gifts that seem just the opposite. Years ago, a man named Kent Tucker played tight end for UCLA. Every year, the guys in his fraternity wanted to make him their president, and every year he turned them down because the required two-minute acceptance speech scared him to death. Public speaking totally intimidated him. Once he became a Christian, however, he discovered that God had (unfortunately, he thought) given him an influencing gift. He went to seminary and became an incredible communicator. In fact, he was the speaker at the camp where my wife became a Christian. He would still tell you, ‘It’s the opposite of any natural talent I ever had.’”
Earlier Ray said, “Decide that discovering your God-given gifts is worth pursuing. Take the time to get a grip on the gifts God has given you, and it will change the course and impact of your life. When the Bible says, ‘Each one has received a [spiritual] gift’ (1 Peter 4: 10 NKJV), that includes you, even if it does not look like it. It’s clear in the Bible.”
So, what is it that God wants you to start pursuing to possess? What is it?
