“It’s not so much ‘Did God really say… ‘ but ‘Did God really say to you?’”

That is one of the lies that Satan throws at us. He didn’t really mean you.

Steven says what we think, “Other people are meant to have joy, hear from God, and be used by Him in ways that are significant and memorable. Other people are equipped to do good works, endowed with spiritual gifts, and blessed in order that they can be a blessing.” Satan wants you to believe the lie that it is for other people, not you.

In my reading in Psalm 20 this morning I wrote these words from the Psalm in my journal, “victory, desires, succeed, answer, rescues, rise up, stand firm”. Those were words of truth that God said through David to me this morning. That is how I started today. Not with lies of Satan but with the truth of God for me.

Steven also says, “The serpent gets nervous when we start challenging the doubts, dysfunctions, and insecurities his questions have propagated in our lives. When we discover what God has really said, we experience a liberation that leads to fulfillment. This fulfillment doesn’t simply enable us to be happy, tranquil, and actualized. It equips us to start answering the questions according to what God says, not what we see.”

And it is what He says to you. Just believe it and accept His truth to you. And get into His Word everyday. Let Him help you start your day right.

“When you understand that life is a test, you realize that nothing is insignificant in your life.”

To realize that from God’s perspective life is a test goes a long way in determining how you handle your life. It is important to see that in testing your character is both developed and revealed. Rick goes on to say that “even the smallest incident has significance for your character development. Every day is an important day, and every second is a growth opportunity to deepen your character, to demonstrate love, or to depend on God.” So there is a God purpose behind each situation in your life. “What areas of my personality, background, and physical appearance am I struggling to accept?”

Rick posed this question at the end of his chapter, You Are Not an Accident. In this chapter he deals with the fact that God created you the way you are with a purpose. In other words you are not an accident. I am also reading the Apostle John’s view of Jesus and what He said and did while He was here on earth. In the beginning of Chapter 9 there is a story about a blind man. And the disciples who were with Him asked Him a good question, “Who sinned, this man or his parents that he was born blind? ” Have you ever asked the same thing about something in you that you don’t like? Like that characteristic is a curse or something. Society has set a standard that is not a standard of God. Remember, He created you and you are not an accident.
