“Believing God means assuming that He is always working even when our faith and prayers and love don’t seem to be working at all.”

That
is very hard to do. You are going
through it and you have prayed and prayed and you thought you were believing
but you are not getting what you are expecting from God. And that can mess up
your relationship with God and your belief that He really cares. I mean if He really cared about me He would
do something. But “believing means
assuming that He is always working” even when we don’t see it. That can be very hard to do.
Where
do you get that kind of believing? Well experience
is a good place to start. You can read
the Bible and see the experiences of people there. You strive to put yourself in the story
without knowing the end and you then read the end and see how God was
working. That can build your faith.
You
can also get it in your own past experiences if you have had years of walking
with the Lord. Strive to remember other
difficult times. Try to remember how you were feeling in those times and then remember
how God was working out in your future and of how things turned out even when
your faith and prayers and love didn’t seem to be working at all.
You
can also get it in the experiences of other Christians. That is why it is so important keep other
Christians close especially when you are tempted to be alone.
You
see the Enemy wants you to be alone. He
wants to be in control of your thought life.
He wants to feed you the lies that says that God doesn’t care and He isn’t
working. He’s off helping others who have more faith. He doesn’t want you to remember anything but
the negative circumstances in your life.
When he does that he has control.
He
wants you to assume that God doesn’t care but God wants you to assume that He
is always working even when it doesn’t seem like He is. “Believing
God means assuming that He is always working even when our faith and prayers
and love don’t seem to be working at all.”
So what
are you going to assume to today?
