It is really difficult when a child is sick especially when they are a baby. Right now our daughter, Stef and her husband, Andrew’s little seven old daughter, Harper is very sick. She is in the hospital going through a lot of testing to find out what is wrong.

It is in those times when we can do nothing that our faith really comes into play. I don’t understand how people without a relationship with God can handle those times. It is difficult when you do have faith. I mean those who believe totally in their ability to do whatever needs to be done must have real problems when they can’t do anything.

I am so glad that I have a faith in someone who can do everything. He is someone I totally trust. He created us so He knows everything about us. He also gave knowledge and abilities to Doctors and Nurses to deal with the complexities of the human body. But He also can be trusted to go even beyond their abilities.

Andrew and Stef have done all they know to do, now they are leaving Harper in those who are gifted and trained and in God who oversees it all. Because they have a relationship with Him they know He hears their prayers and that He is at work in little Harper behalf.

To realize that from God’s perspective life is a test goes a long way in determining how you handle your life. It is important to see that in testing your character is both developed and revealed. Rick goes on to say that “even the smallest incident has significance for your character development. In other words you are not an accident. I am also reading the Apostle John’s view of Jesus and what He said and did while He was here on earth. In the beginning of Chapter 9 there is a story about a blind man. And the disciples who were with Him asked Him a good question, “Who sinned, this man or his parents that he was born blind? ” Have you ever asked the same thing about something in you that you don’t like?
