A
thought by John C. Maxwell (2012-10-02) from his book, The 15 Invaluable Laws of Growth: Live Them and Reach Your Potential
(p. 86). Center Street. Kindle Edition.
Most
of our attitudes toward our problems are negative. “I can’t believe this is happening to
me.” “What did I do to deserve this?” Nothing good ever happens to me” Two things happen with that kind of attitude
– One, you don’t solve the problem. And
Two – you get depressed. Most people see
problems as enemies.
But
other people see them as friends. They
see them as opportunities to grow, to learn, to solve. Those people have a total different attitude
toward life. Life to them is not to be
feared but to be enjoyed. Life is an
adventure to them.
Which
person are you? Which person do you want
to be?
You
can change, both for the good or the bad.
It starts with who you are around.
If they are negative then you will have a tendency to see life that
way. But if they are positive then you
have a tendency to live life with some excitement. Maybe that is one place to change.
It
could also be from what you put into your mind.
I read a Psalm from the Old Testament every day. I read my newspapers from the back. I don’t dwell too long on the front
pages. I want to know what is happening
but I don’t want to be controlled by them.
My life is too short to be discouraged.
If
you read this blog much you see what I read.
Maybe as you read a quote from a particular author you have a desire to
read more from them. At the top of this
section there is a paragraph that has the title of the book where each thought
comes from. If you click onto the title
it will take you to Amazon.com where it will show you where you can buy the
book. Why don’t you buy it and start
reading and growing.
So
I ask the question again, which person do you want to be? So do you need to
change something? Are you going to?
