“God wants us to trust Him because as our faith expands, worry shrinks.”

And almost all of us need our faith expanded and our worry shrunk, don’t we? Craig says, “My faith is starting to grow. What progress I’ve made has only come as I’ve internalized His truth. When I apply His truth, rather than giving in to anxiety, I live in His peace, which surpasses my understanding. When I don’t, I live paralyzed by worry and fear.” He goes on, “The first thing God’s taught me is to take my mind off the ‘what ifs’ of worry. For years I played the what-if game. Maybe you’re acquainted with this pastime. The rules are simple:                           Rule #1: You’re only allowed to think of worst-case scenarios.               Rule #2: You’re never allowed to win this game. You can only lose.               Rule #3: The more you play, the greater your losses. ” He

“If you feel insecure about your faltering prayer life, I’ve got great news for you: God’s waiting.”

Yes, he is, he’s waiting! Craig says, “Right now. At this moment. He wants to reveal Himself to you, and He wants you to reveal your heart to Him. “Pray. Pray creatively, openly, honestly. Pray long. Pray short. Sigh. Sing. Dance. Cry. Shout. Pray in the morning. During the day and in the evening. Pray in the car, while working, while doing chores. Laugh with Him. Cry with Him. Experience His presence. Let your attitudes, thoughts, energy, focus, attention, desire, and love be directed toward the One who loves you. Like breathing air, allow moment-by-moment fellowship to become a way of life—starting this very moment. “Go ahead. Communicate.” Would you do that?   Would you do that beginning right now? Yes, yes!

“Pray creatively. Sigh. Shout. Sing. Or try something else.”

Creativity and variety can make activities more meaningful.   Because doing things the same way can lead to boredom.   Craig says, “You might try:   “ Writing your prayers . That’s what I do on Mondays. After a hard weekend of preaching, I sit at my computer and talk to God in writing. Some weeks I write a thank-you letter to God. Other weeks it’s more like a complaint letter. Sometimes it’s like an e-mail to a close friend. If you’ve never tried writing your prayers, grab a pen, paper, laptop, iPad, or iPhone and pray away. “ Praying during routine tasks. Praying while commuting to work can make a long drive pleasurable and valuable. (Just don’t close your eyes. Remember, Jesus said, ‘Watch and pray.’) Maybe you can pray while you’re grocery shopping, doing the laundry, or working out a
