“Create a trophy room in your heart.”

A thought by Max Lucado (2015-09-15) from his book, Glory Days: Living Your Promised Land Life Now (p. 64). Thomas Nelson. Kindle Edition. (Click on the title to go to Amazon.com to buy the book.) Max continues, “Each time you experience a victory, place a memory on the shelf. Before you face a challenge, take a quick tour of God’s accomplishments. Look at all the paychecks he has provided, all the blessings he has given, all the prayers he has answered. Imitate the shepherd boy David. Before he fought Goliath, the giant, he remembered how God had helped him kill a lion and a bear (1 Sam. 17:34–36). He faced his future by revisiting the past.” Today is the last day of January.   This might be time to go back and remember how God has taken care of you this month.   Then in the month of February when you are going through that tough time you can go and look and remember what he has just done for you. So how long is your list?

“Remember what God has done.”

A thought by Max Lucado (2015-09-15) from his book, Glory Days: Living Your Promised Land Life Now (p. 63). Thomas Nelson. Kindle Edition. (Click on the title to go to Amazon.com to buy the book.) Max tells this story, “Some years back my daughter Andrea reminded me of this truth. As I was driving her to middle school one morning, she noticed that I was anxious. ‘Why are you so quiet, Dad?’ I told her that I was worried about meeting a book deadline. Kids aren’t always clued in on their father’s profession, so she asked me, ‘Haven’t you written other books?’ ‘Yes.’   ‘How many?’ At that point the answer was fifteen. ‘Have you ever missed a deadline before?’ ‘No.’ ‘So God has helped you fifteen times already?’ ‘Yes.’ ‘He’s helped you each time?’ I winced. She was sounding like her mother. ‘If he has helped you fifteen different times, don’t you think he will help you this time?’” Very, very good advice for you and me today, don’t you think? I don’t know what you are goin

“Great rewards come to those who do.”

A thought by Max Lucado (2015-09-15) from his book, Glory Days: Living Your Promised Land Life Now (p. 33). Thomas Nelson. Kindle Edition. (Click on the title to go to Amazon.com to buy the book.) That’s a good thought that will get our attention. By the way, what is it that we are to do?   Just k eep reading and you'll find out. Max says, “God promised Joshua, ‘You will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success’ (Josh. 1:8). This is the only place in the Old Testament where the two words prosperous and success are found together. This is an emphasized promise. Align yourself with God’s Word and expect prosperity and success.” That sounds good.   Max goes on, “Don’t cringe. Joshua 1:8 isn’t a guarantee of early retirement. In the United States we often associate prosperity and success with money. The Bible is not so narrow. Its promise of prosperity occasionally includes money, but it far more often refers to a wealthy spirit, mind, and
